TSG Winter Camp 2023
Friday
Around 100 budokas came to participate in this years winter camp, to celebrate Soke David Cooks life and his importance within the karate community.
Out of those, were more than 40 blackbelts, from different parts of the world, most of them still active within full contact karate!
To start the camp off on Friday afternoon, Shihan Jakob held the first session with lots of fun combos to work with, such as Juji Uke to block a Jodan Mawashi Geri and different follow ups. We ended the session with a couple of rounds of sparring, great fun!
After that session a very surprising thing happened: during our barbecue dinner, the fire alarm was pulled. That led to that everyone had to get out the building as fast as they could (we didn’t know at that moment that there really wasn't a fire in the building). This, as you can imagine, caused some worries!
The fire department came after some time, looked through the building, found no fire and reset the alarm. After that, everyone who had stayed outside in the cold winter weather of Sweden, could go back in and warm themselves up a bit before the second training session.
Because of all this, the training was delayed by 15 minutes from the scheduled time.
Shihan Lars held the last session on Friday. It consisted of some different combos with some Jodan Mawashi Geris, (which was not surprising from him as he's very good with high kicks). Great training session!
